Today has been so emotional! The leaver’s assembly this morning was good but bad. Good because the Year 6s got to share their memories and whatnot but amazingly sad because we had to say goodbye to 4 wonderful teachers, 3 of which taught me and 1 taught my neighbour. The TA in reception is also leaving :’( I actually bawled in church this morning and then again when Rose hugged me…gah!

Got all emotional watching the receptions assembly ♥
My little reception kids are doing a class assembly in the morning. They’re acting out Jack and the Beanstalk :’) I met 2 of them in Tesco the other day and they requested my presence :)
Last day of placement is complete! I’m not too upset, mainly because i know i’m back in on Friday morning but also because Lindsay wasn’t in :(
I gave my cards and chocolates out this morning, Jeni and i did ‘word trees’ for the kids to take home for homework and had a DVD afternoon, we watched Garfield 2…or at least an hour of it anyway. Then it was peer massage so i dismantled the kids’ models with Justin.
Then i went to see Carolyn…who was nice to me! I went in a just said thanks for having me the last 9 months, i’ll be back on Friday but thanks, and she was all ‘oh its been a pleasure, you’ve settled in really well in reception’ and went on to ask about what i was doing now and i said uni and whatnot and she just said ‘well if you’re ever in the area pop in and see us’. I was shocked. SHOCKED.
I need to write my Thank You card for the staff for tomorrow and i just don’t know what to put in it! Maybe because i don’t want to think about leaving…
And i’ve decided that i’m going to make a point of personally thanking the head teacher, if she’s actually in school at the end of the day, to make her feel shit abut ignoring me for pretty much the whole 9 months i’ve been there :’)
I have never been more glad for it to be a Friday! 4 days at placement is 2 too many, i don’t know how teachers do it all week and are still living at this time on a Friday! I’m totally knackered. I’ve been running round all day today trying to make the classroom look better and we’ve been getting random checks by random people throughout the day making sure that everything is in the right place and all the resources are in the classroom ready for the Ofsted inspection on Tuesday. I can safely say i’m glad i’m not back in there until Wednesday!
I spent the first part of this morning making red, white and blue party hats and then I printed and laminated pictures of the Royal Family for the display in Reception…gotta admit it took me longer to find a picture of Kate because, well, I like her face more than the other :’)
Trying to find an outfit for placement is hard enough when the weather’s shit so having warm weather makes it 10x harder!
Smithills Farm is awesome, had so much fun! We held baby chicks, guinea pigs and rabbits, fed lambs and baby goats, stroked an owl and its baby, met a sheep dog puppy, stroked a snake, had a tractor ride and fed donkey’s, the kids had donkey rides, then we watched cows being milked and then fed goats, deer, sheep and alpaca outside :D
The kids were so well behaved and loved everything about the day! The adults enjoyed it too :’)
